Montenegro will offer a citizenship-by-investment program
On 26th July 2018, the government of Montenegro announced the launch of a citizenship-by-investment program.
Foreign investors will be offered various options, including investments of EUR 450,000 into government-approved projects in the developed regions of the country or EUR 250,000 in the developing areas. Government fees are EUR 100,000 per application. Number of applicants is limited to 2000 for three years.
It is expected for the applicants to become residents within a month of submitting the documents and gain citizenship six months after that.
Montenegrin passport occupies the 45th position in the Henley & Partners passport index. It allows visa-free travel to 123 countries, including Schengen area, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and UAE.
