Applications for Montenegrin citizenship by investment will soon be accepted
On 12 February 2019, the Secretariat of Development Projects of Montenegro received about 30 applications from international companies that want to obtain an official license to work with the citizenship by investment program. The final list of licensed agents will be ready within a month.
In the nearest future, official documentation on the program and the list of investment properties will be approved.
Henley & Partners will monitor the situation and inform you of any updates.
The launch of the investment program was announced in the summer of 2018. To become a Montenegrin citizen, a foreign investor will be required to contribute EUR 100,000 to a special government foundation and to invest EUR 450,000 to a government-approved property in developed parts of the country (South and coastline) or EUR 250,000 in lesser-developed regions in the Northern Montenegro.
